To Tuck or Not? Shirttails That Is!

So the question was posed to me recently... why does the untucked shirttail happen? Even in the presence of a sport coat?

Well, guys, here's the thing. You're trying really hard to look like you're dressed-up-but-not-really. Sort of "thumbing your nose" at being formal. Don't do it. You're wearing a suit, collared shirt, tie (maybe) and through all that you leave the shirttails visible? It was cute on Ryan Reynolds- a really long time ago! Not anymore. We ladies like the sleek, sophisticated, put together kind of guy. ;)

Now, I'm all for untucked shirts in certain outfit situations. I love a man in linen pants and linen, button down shirt. Doesn't have to be linen pants and shirt- khakis, flat-front slacks, nice jeans, whatever. Now, if the shirt is to remain untucked, the hem should be straight across. If it curves at all, then it is designed to be tucked in. (it curves around your bottom, see?) Same thing goes for you ladies on this one.

Don't get me started on t-shirts. That's a whole other blog! ;)
